An Artsy Vacation!

This week our Pikasso Swig owner, Jamie, took a tip to Fort Myers Florida. With Mai holding down the fort, and all folks crafting away in Virginia, Jamie got a chance to take a little vacay. Fort Myers is on the west coast of Florida and is mostly a small town like Charlottesville, just with a little more water. Its amazing how many tiny towns there are all over the country that sometimes we do not get a chance to explore.

Art Is Everywhere

Sometimes when we are trying to create things, whatever that may be, you can get stuck in a rut. You can think that you are trying too hard to create, when really you can look everywhere and see beauty. There is beauty in the trees that grow, in the ocean that doesnt wash away the shore and in the sky when you can see the clouds turning into shapes. The colors of small towns, in the buildings, in the stores and in the art that is seen on buildings. Today, take a moment to look around and see the beauty that is around you. Though sometimes it can feel hard to be creative, simply take a breath and take in the magic that is everywhere!

A Note From Jamie

I have been to Florida many times. My family has lived here for over 40 years and the landscape has changed so much! What was a small beach town years ago has turned into a sprawling metropolis with highways and beach condos as far as the eye can see. Though I have been visiting for many years, its amazing how much I continue to uncover. This trip I was able to visit Fort Meyers, which was an adorable town. There was tons of local artists selling their art in galleries and shops. I loved seeing all of the creations and was so inspired by the unique items. I took tons of photos and got lots of ideas to bring back to Pikasso Swig and I am so excited to introduce some new and exciting crafts this season. I am also super greatful to Mai for covering the store while I got away for a bit. There is nothing more rejuvenating than spending quality time with family.

P.S. I gained 3 pounds. Sigh. My uncle is a great cook.

"Reading about your artsy vacation sounds like such a dream! There is something so restorative about stepping away from the daily grind and just immersing yourself in creativity. It actually reminds me of a trip I took last summer when I was at a total crossroads in my career. I was so burnt out and stressed about my next move that I couldn't even enjoy the scenery. I finally decided right then and there to Pay Someone to Write a Professional Resume for me just so I could actually unplug and let a specialist handle the technical side of my job search. It was the best decision I ever made because it allowed me to finally focus on the art and…

"Your post about Jamie’s trip to Fort Myers really resonated with me, especially the part about finding beauty everywhere to get out of a creative rut. I remember being so burnt out during finals week that I couldn’t even look at a canvas; I was so desperate for a break like this that I almost looked into how to pay someone to do my online exam just so I could escape to a small town for the weekend. Taking that breath to appreciate the 'magic' around us is such a necessary reset, and seeing these Florida photos has definitely inspired me to plan my own little artsy getaway!"

I really enjoyed how this post about taking an artsy vacation captures the joy of exploring a new place through local art, quirky studios, and unexpected creative finds it makes the idea of travel feel vibrant and inspiring. Reading it reminded me of those times I needed Help with online finance class but used short creative breaks like sketching or gallery strolls to reset my focus and actually come back to the work feeling sharper.

I loved your An Artsy Vacation! post and how you described finding beauty in everyday places like Fort Myers, from coastal colors to small‑town galleries that sparked fresh ideas back home. It made me think of times I needed a creative break from deadlines, and in the middle of that chaos I even wished online class takers could lighten my load just a bit so I could truly soak up moments like this without stress.

I just read your An Artsy Vacation! post, and it genuinely made me feel like I was strolling through Fort Myers alongside you, soaking up all the little coastal colors and creative inspiration that pushed you to bring fresh ideas back to the studio that part about seeing beauty everywhere really hit home. It reminded me of how I hid from stress during finals week by wandering local galleries between study sessions and how I once wished I could take my online Accounting exam without the usual panic before diving back into an art‑filled afternoon.
