Pikasso Swig is Charlottesville, Virginia's hottest DIY Craft Bar, and we are growing! We love to create magic, and our mission is to share art with the world! We are unique and unlike any craft bar out there—we promise! We are seeking a highly organized, energetic, and engaging individual to serve as our Part-Time Event Coordinator & Craft Specialist. This unique position blends crucial administrative tasks with high-energy, on-site customer interaction. 🌟 Role Details & Schedule Commitment

  • Part-Time: Approximately 20 hours per week.

  • Location: Pikasso Swig Downtown Charlottesville location. ALL work (admin and on-site) is required at this location.

  • Hours of Operation Note: We prioritize work-life balance! Our usual closing time is 8:00 PM on weekends, meaning this is NOT a late-night bar role. Rare, scheduled shows may occasionally require later hours.

  • Schedule Structure:

    • Administrative/Flexible Days: Wednesday and Thursday are primarily dedicated to administrative and event booking tasks at the studio. However, if an event or private party is booked, you will be required to work that event on-site.

    • On-Site Event Days: The remaining hours will be completed on-site to run events and assist customers.

  • Availability is CRUCIAL on Weekends: You must be available for shifts on Saturdays and Sundays. Shifts on Fridays are optional and available for candidates seeking extra hours or overtime, based on business needs.

  • Compensation: Starting at $18/hr.

🎨 What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities)

This role is split between Event Booking & Coordination and On-Site Craft Assistance.

1. Event Coordination & Administration (The Planner & Strategic Partner)

  • Work Closely with the Owner on event tasks, business development, and supply chain management.

  • Serve as the primary contact for all event bookings (birthdays, team-building, private groups).

  • Collaborate closely with management on event strategy, bringing creative ideas and suggestions, supporting business development goals.

  • Supply Chain Management: Responsible for ordering all necessary supplies and maintaining inventory for parties and events, including crafting tools, decor, and coordinating external catering if applicable.

  • Assist with website updates related to event offerings, classes, and booking calendars.

  • Manage the end-to-end booking process, including quotes, contracts, and payments.

2. On-Site Craft Specialist & Hospitality Master!

  • Be the VIBE! The primary goal is making every guest feel like family by going above and beyond to treat them like they are in our living room.

  • Relationship Building: This includes actively getting to know guests, welcoming people to the store, remembering names, and celebrating everything and everyone (birthdays, milestones, etc.).

  • Group Instruction & Assistance: You MUST be outgoing, friendly, and comfortable assisting clients with their chosen projects, providing direction, tips, and encouragement to create their masterpiece.

    • If you enjoy crafting and painting, you can help us craft and create seasonal samples to inspire guests! (NOTE: This is not required for the role.)

    • Note: You do not need to be an artist, just comfortable explaining the process of our DIY crafts.

  • Bar & Food Service: Preparing and serving light snacks & drinks from our restaurant/bar, maintaining the stocked bar, entering orders, and processing payments.

  • Gathering and organizing materials/supplies, setting up crafts, and assisting with inventory management.

✅ What You Bring to the Team (Requirements)

  • POSITIVE, Upbeat, Highly Outgoing, and Friendly Attitude is Non-Negotiable.

  • Exceptional Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and professionally with all ages and groups, from children to CEOs, maintaining a friendly and fun demeanor.

  • Natural Host/Hostess: Proven ability to build rapport and deliver exceptional, personalized hospitality.

  • Proactive and Collaborative: Must be able to contribute ideas for seasonal crafts and overall event improvement.

  • Excellent written email communication skills are a must for professional correspondence with clients and vendors.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, including strong supply chain and calendar management.

  • Must be 21 years or older (due to serving alcohol).

  • Ability to work the required schedule, including crucial Saturday and Sunday hours.

  • MUST have reliable personal transportation to travel to and from the Charlottesville location for shifts.
